Gomez et Gomes Pt 2

That diminutive lass we know as Little Maria is back at The Top Room after some months of quiet.
Maria Gomez, jazz & theatre vocalist, has earned accolades from her musical peers, resulting in numerous guest appearances with notable performers over the years such as Greg Lyons, Lewis Pragasam, internationally- renowned percussionist, Steve Thornton, David Gomes, and up & coming jazz youngbloods like Cher Siang Tay & Julian Chan.

Maria’s foray into the international music scene with the show band Stardust, with whom she performed all over the South West in the UK, is still remembered and lauded as one of the most notable acts of the time. She was also involved in local theatre productions like ‘The Fantasticks’, Natra’ and Berjaya Times Square’s New Year Opening ceremony production ‘Naughty Naughty’, as well as a few Instant Café Theatre productions.

Her portfolio includes a range of jazz standards by the likes of Billie Holiday, Diane Schuur, Astrud Gilberto, Ella Fitzgerald and Eva Cassidy and is influenced mainly by genres such as Blues, Latin and Jazz.

Maria will be performing together with The David Gomes Trio this Friday and Saturday 27th & 28th April 2007. First set starts at 10:30pm. The bar closes at 2 a.m.
