Los Zorros rides into town!

Zorro! The name evokes images of a uber-tanned, masked, black-caped lone-horseman who rides around Spanish villages (usually at night as it's easy to conceal his identity) saving the oppressed (usually tiny-waisted & big bosomed senoritas) and fighting the oppressors (usually mean-looking, sometimes ugly fat hombres, well... except for Alejandro Rey!).

Our four LOS ZORROS however ride on bikes & MPV's, don no capes, and are performing unmasked on the 2nd & 3rd of March at The Top Room. These four superlative instrumentalists grouped together in 2003 to form the region’s premier string swing band.

Reminiscent of The Hot Club of France, the quartet plays such Stephane Grappelli/Django Reinhardt inspired classics as Sweet Georgia Brown, C’est Si Bon, Alabamy Bound, Undecided, jazz standards (How High the Moon, Autumn Leaves, Corcovado) and many more memorable tunes from the heyday of the 1930’s Swing Era. They’ve delighted audiences with their engaging and interactive stage presence in vocal numbers like Hummin’ (to Myself), Payday Blues and Cab Calloway’s Minnie the Moocher, among others. Audiences are in for a treat during the Los Zorros’ encores, when the band is likely to perform twin violin pyrotechnics performing folk music from Eastern Europe.

The members of the band are Dick Zorro on violin, Nick Zorro on mandolin and violin, Mick Zorro on guitar, and Rick Zorro on bass. They are frequently joined by a fifth member who adds another unique dimension to the band, the lovely and talented Adriane Zorrita (aka Chick Zorro) on drums and percussion. And in keeping with Senor Zorro's mysterious streak... we shall post no photos here.
