Okay... maybe more than just a glance then...
Well, we're down to the last quarter of 2006 and I'm just sittin' here wonderin' where the rest of the year has gone! It has been one heckuva ride for us and it's not about to let up either!! Not just yet. See...
David & I've been busy doing the KUL/SIN/KUL commute all of September and, even as I'm preparing to continue trekking over way down South for October [and November too], I thought it best that I post, sans fancy photos et al, the next month's confirmed gig listing.
First up is the divine Ida Mariana in the sequel to her numero uno gig in September where TTR@TH was packed to the hilt. This time get your fill of this swell lady as she teams up with David Gomes & his quartet. Expect a healthy dose of jazz standards, bossa novas & heartfelt ballads and loads o'charm. Make a date with Miss M this October 6 & 7.
Then The David Gomes Quartet swings around for 1 night on the 13th of October. To the un-initiated, David is KL's premiere male jazz vocalist, pianist, arranger/composer. Hence, while he has played MD, bandleader & pianoman behind many a-frontliner, this time around we decided to let his voice take centrestage in a special ONE NIGHT ONLY performance. Don't miss it!
NOTE: THE TOP ROOM IS BOOKED FOR A PRIVATE FUNCTION ON THE 14TH OF OCTOBER BUT REGULAR BUSINESS RESUMES ON THE 15TH FOR THE SUNDAY AFTERNOON JAZZ JAM!
Now, the 3rd weekend of Octobern is a real triple treat!!! David Gomes, Junji Delfino and [drum roll please......ta da!!!] Ms. Salamiah Hassan all on the same stage. Catch this winsome threesome doing what they do best. David on solo piano and the two seriously wacky songbirds belting, crooning & working their way to your hearts. October 20 & 21. Book early to avoid disappointment. Limited seats only.
Last but, most definitely, not least... the dashingly suave, debonair & consumate entertainer that is Sharizan Borhan is making a much-awaited return to The Top Room stage on the 27th & 28th of October. See him in action and find out why this gentleman with his boyish good looks is making waves wherever he goes. Joining him on this weekend is that equally cool saxman, Julian Chan along with David Gomes on piano [before he resumes his pilgrimage to that southern jazz mecca].
All make for an exciting month at The Top Room, dontcha think??? Anyways... don't forget to book your tables, seats & what-nots at + 603 21428611 or info@top-hat-restaurants.com. Check performance schedules below.
See y'all soon...
